This important event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 24. It is held at 410 Bataan Veterans Ct. in Gallup. In addition, please use this email if you would like to volunteer at the auction or assist in any way. Moreover, admission is free, and there is no charge for buyer registration. On the day of the event, there is an auction preview from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. After a half-hour break, you can participate in the auction from noon to 4 p.m.

What You Will See at the Auction

Firstly, you will find a wide variety of items at the Friends of Hubbell Native American Auction. Each item showcases the talent and artistry that goes into each creation. Furthermore, there is something appealing for every visitor and participant. You will be able to bid for Hopi katsina dolls, furniture, fetishes, carvings, Navajo rugs, and jewelry. Plus, you can check out sash belts, paintings, Navajo and Hopi baskets, pottery, cradleboards, and many more items. In all, you can expect to see more than 300 works from local Native American artists and traders. Lastly, there will also be food available to purchase during the event.

A Significant Fundraiser

The auction is one of the biggest events of the year in Gallup, NM. The proceeds allow Friends of Hubbell to continue and fund its scholarship program. Furthermore, because of the auction, events in the park can take place throughout the year. Other special events in the community can take place largely because of the proceeds the auction brings in. However, primarily, the auction supports local artists and helps them financially.

Since the auction began in 1990, the event has given more than $3 million to local Native American communities. The sales and auction process gives about 85 cents on every dollar sold to Native American areas.
