About
Some people may remember that the Rocket Café has not always been what it is today. Back in the 1980s, the Colainni family opened the Pizza Palace bringing with them authentic Italian-style pizza and pasta. Then, in the mid-1990s, Marie Chioda had an idea to change up her family’s business. She introduced New Mexican flavors and American dishes to the menu, and the Rocket Café was born.
Since the switch, the Rocket Café has gone through another renovation that showcased even more improvements. They’ve also continued to keep the business in the family, and they are proud to make the restaurant feel like a home away from home. It’s no wonder that it has become a favorite spot for many Gallup locals.
Food
There is a lot of variety on the menu, so you are sure to find something you will love! Starting off your meal, the appetizers range from classic Italian bites to gameday favorites. For your main dish, the Rocket Burger continues to be a fan favorite with provolone, bacon, avocado, and green chili strips. We recommend going with one of their wood-fired, specialty pizzas. Of course, you could also treat yourself to a local dish like the green chili stew, tostadas, or Frito pie.
